Dubai Pavilion

When we were contracted by Reem Island to design a pavilion for the exhibition, I thought about creating something new, in a place and culture that showcases pioneer solutions and cutting-edge technology. Thus the idea was born to use the shapes and colors of the desert dunes, while at the same time creating a “living space”. Resembling a living animal, the pavilion was designed with an organic inflatable form. It can “breathe” by increasing or decreasing the amount of air in its interior. This was the first time my company had ever worked with inflatable technology, as we designed the project to acquire its final form.
