TEX . Express Transportation . 2005

TEX is a non-polluting alternative to urban public transportation. The vehicle glides on a rail embedded in a groove in the asphalt, with a thin pantograph structure that elevates the vehicle 3 meters above the ground, occupying a designated lane on existing roads, the width of a motorcycle. The vehicle can reach an average speed of 60 km/h, even when the roads are completely congested. The biggest advantage of the system is the cost, estimated at U$ 10 million/km, which makes the implementation through public concessions possible, eliminating the need for large government investments.
